An explosion occurred in a house in Brandon, Manitoba last night,
which killed a woman
and a man was transported by helicopter to the hospital.
The explosion blew up the front of the cottage,
and the debris from the explosion was scattered on the nearby grass.
When the police arrived at the scene,
they found a 63-year-old woman who died in the house
and a 63-year-old man in a critical state.
To be on the safe side,
the police asked nearby residents to evacuate,
but later allowed the residents to return.
Witnesses said the area had a strong gas leak.
The police said the cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
