The Ontario Energy Commission (OEB) announced that
starting in November,
the average electricity bill for Ontario’s households
and small businesses will increase by about $2 a month.
OEB said that this increase is equivalent to 1.8%,
which is in line with the inflation rate.
In the past, the Ford government forced electricity suppliers
to change the cost of residential water and electricity,
which made the province’s subsidies more prominent.
Therefore, the water and electricity bills from November
will show the actual water and electricity bills,
plus a list of “Total Ontario support fee”.
